I drew this scene thinking of Madara when he got home right after awakening his sharingan.. and his mother was so glad and proud of him, that she prepared some Inarizushi since it is his favorite food
While he is happy to finally awakening his kekkei genkai,he is sad for everything that happened with him and Hashirama, but he tries to keep that thoughts away and go ahead, thinking only of his clan and his brother.
BTW. I named her Midori, which means green and verdant, I know this color isn't in her color scheme, but it kind of suits her because of her more peaceful nature and compassionate motherly love. And I choose it mainly because it is similar to Madara so he sort of got named after his mother.
I decided to let her live a bit more, I really wanted to have her seeing her sons growing up, but I think she died fairly early because of her medical conditions that made her very fragile and with a weak health.. I think she died some months after Madara awakened his sharingan, so this should be one of the last memories he has of her. Don't get confused, she was a very talented Kunoichi before becoming ill, I'll draw her like that in the future.

The shared moment between mother and son depicted here is so nice! I adore parent/children art, they're so sentimental and show a great deal of their relationship in a single image. This does just that.
Ughh-hnnng. the fact that they share the same signature hair fringe is irresistible! Leave it to the goddess-like mothers to gift their sons with impeccable handsomeness.
Was it mentioned in the manga that she died untimely from illness or is thata theory of yours? It's very interesting, which is why I ask. I'd feel like a derp if I missed it in the manga anywhere. If that ended up being the case then it'd give me a legit reason to go back and re-read Madara's flashbacks. (╯＾□＾)╯
I also love that kind of picture, specially when it represents such a lovely character.. I mean, how could someone not love this child? He was simply adorable and the most intelligent kid I've seen in the manga so far... Imagining his home life is irresistible!
Oh, my.. I couldn't resist giving her the fringe... I like to think after her death Madara let his hair grow as a memento to her... silly headcanon .____.
because it is gorgeous of course!
The illness is pure theory! I'm sorry again.. we know nothing of her in canon! I just thought it would be interesting, since it would restrain her and would explain why she left her life as a kunoichi, plus the fact that she had many sons... That could've make her situation even worse! btw, I don't think she died in the hands of Senju, or Madara would blame it together with Izuna's death
You are not derp... I just write stupidy descriptions lol
Madara was pretty charismatic as a kid when you think about it. Was he still cocky & competitive? Certainly. However, he seemed more quick to apologize for his actions like when he’d unintentionally send Hashirama in to fits of depression. Not to mention, he clearly had own bag of insecurities, like when he’d freeze if he sensed someone behind him (you know the specific example I’m talking about Hoihoihoihoi). Some readers complained about that, believing it to be unnecessary or out-of-character, but I don’t. I thought it was refreshingly comical and showed a lighter side to Madara’s innocence before he grew darkened and corrupt. He wasn’t always a tyrant, far from it. Those particular flashbacks were meant to reveal that and did it with charm.
So that would also lead me to believe that not everything in his family was bred from contempt and hate. And to me Tajima comes off as a naturally blood thirsty kind of guy, especially seeing as how he just takes his youngest son and initiates an ambush on Hashirama’s father & brothers. And thanks to the flashback, we’ve learned that Madara didn’t share his clan’s bloody ambition until it struck home through Izuna. So who could we have to thank for that innate passiveness? Uhm. MIDORI, MAYBE.
Seriously, I have really no credit to say something like that, since I'm such a big fan of him... But I can't remember any kid being so incredible cunning in this manga so far. At such tender age, he had already solid ideas and concepts about what caused the pain he witnessed in the world around him..
Once more, I give only good qualities to him, but I say that because he was ahead of his time when he was able to see through the clans wars, it shows he wasn't just brain washed by the Uchiha hatred, instead had that passiveness that wasn't inherent of the current time ideology. I would love to know it had something to do with his mother in canon... and like you said, it quite possible
I also got that vibe from Tajima.. I have mixed feelings concerning his relationship with his sons.... at the same time that he "uses" his sons as killing machines at such young age, I appreciate the way he trusts them, specially Madara. I really expect the mother to be much more compassionate to balance things out, that's why I thought it could be a good idea to have a more protective mother, someone that wishes their sons had a different future
I know, and I agree. If Kishi had done some lovely cute child only without these qualities you mentioned (cocky, competitive, etc...) he wouldn't be making a believable younger version of Madara... because that's in his nature. And that kind of thing such as the peeing incident only served to show that other side of Madara, like you said... and I really enjoy the comical relief, such as when he has and outburst against Hashirama as an adult.
I know a lot of casual readers have so wrong ideas about a character like Madara, it is only natural!... I think it is so much easy to judge him and put him in the evil villains category... but to my eyes he was more coherent in his ideals and believable in his actions, as a human that suffered and tried to change the world around him, than most the main characters have been ._. I think the flashback helped this kind of readers to clear things out a bit, Kishi did it very well.
Knowing how Madara was a child, I can imagine him with big eyes wghen he sees his mother's Inarizush
I bet his mom makes the best Inarizushi in the world
I know, yours was also very sad ._. But I love tragic stories..
I love the two moms so much
